Oil traders shell out for Mourinho’s lucky coat

CHELSEA boss Jose Mourinho will defend the Premiership title next season without his lucky coat.

Oil traders shell out for Mourinho’s lucky coat

Members of the British oil industry dug deep at Stamford Bridge last night to raise cash for Tsunami Relief, an African foundation and cancer charity CLIC Sargent - with one bidder handing over more than €32,000 for the famous grey Armani coat.

Organiser Marc Thompson, a London-based oil broker, said Mourinho, who hates to be parted from his cashmere coat, had tried to buy it back for €22,000, but conceded: “If someone outbids me, then they deserve it.”

Mr Thompson said: “The guy that bought it is going to wear it and not wash it. He knows it will bring him good luck.”

Twenty-four teams paid €20,000 each to play football at Chelsea, bidding extra to have a star player on side. A day at Chelsea with Lord and Lady Attenborough and a rare print signed by the squad were also auctioned.
