Savage seeks to end retirement

ROBBIE SAVAGE has revealed he wants to come out of international retirement and end his feud with Wales boss John Toshack.

The Blackburn midfielder has claimed he could play on until 2010 for the national team.

Savage quit the Welsh national team in March after a telephone row with new boss Toshack, who told him he would not be involved in two World Cup games against Austria.

He now regrets the move, saying: “I know now I shouldn’t have reacted as I did. I’ve got 39 caps and I don’t want to tell my little boy Charlie as he grows up that I could have made a lot more but I cut my career short because of my temper.” He could return for the clash with England on September 3.
