Cole upset at transfer talk, claims Wenger

ARSENE WENGER last night revealed his fear that Ashley Cole is being unsettled by the constant speculation over his future amid fresh claims of an illegal approach by Chelsea.

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho yesterday invited the Arsenal boss to call him to discuss the issue, while describing the England defender as one of the best left-backs in the world. He also made clear he intends to sign a left-back this summer, even if he would not comment directly on reports he illegally approached Cole in a meeting at a London hotel.

A second newspaper has now carried claims, said to be backed up by a sworn affidavit from a hotel member of staff, that Cole met Mourinho and chief executive Peter Kenyon last week.
