Leeds defiant over administration threat

LEEDS manager Kevin Blackwell is refusing to contemplate the potential prospect of administration which appears to be hanging over the club.

A payment of £1.2million is owed to the Inland Revenue by December 15, while it is also understood a further £800,000 is required later this month to pay off a VAT bill.

There are fears Leeds are struggling to find the required funds, sparking suggestions the club could be plunged into administration before Christmas, incurring with it an automatic 10-point penalty which would drop United into the relegation zone of the Coca Cola Championship.

With cash-strapped Wrexham yesterday forced into administration, Blackwell said: "We cannot allow ourselves to think about it. We have to focus on what we do. We saw what it did to morale last season it sapped us and we were relegated."
