John Kennedy ordeal

Celtic defender John Kennedy fears his season is over after his Scotland debut ended in agony on Wednesday night.

The 20-year-old was the victim of a crunching tackle by Wolves striker Vio Ganea just 14 minutes into the defeat against Romania at Hampden Park.

Suspected ligament damage means Kennedy’s season could now be in ruins after emerging as an important player for Celtic over the last couple of weeks.

He said: “The X-rays have shown that there are no breaks but I fear my season is over.

“I’m still hoping upon hope that when I report to Parkhead for further scans it may not be as bad as I fear.”
