Campbell could return to strengthen Gunners’ defence

SOL CAMPBELL could make a dramatic return for Arsenal in time for tomorrow’s crucial Champions League clash with PSV Eindhoven in Holland, even though manager Arsene Wenger has vowed not to rush him back.

The England defender has missed the Gunners’ last five games in the Premiership and Europe because of an Achilles tendon injury and Wenger was doubtful he would be ready for this week’s crunch tie in Group E.

But Campbell came through a rigorous training session and if he shows no reaction to a further tough test at the club’s Hertfordshire base, he will travel with the squad.
