Pedersen in Blackburn plea

NORWAY winger Morten Gamst Pedersen has urged Blackburn manager Mark Hughes to give him a chance in the first team at Ewood Park.

Pedersen, who scored one goal and set up the other during Norway’s 2-2 draw with Australia on Tuesday, has struggled to even make the bench for Rovers since Hughes took over from Graeme Souness in September.

But the 23-year-old midfielder insists he will defy the critics and become a success at the club.

Pedersen has not featured for Blackburn since scoring in the Carling Cup defeat against Bournemouth on September 22, but hopes the starring role he played for his country will force him back into Hughes’ plans.

He has scored four goals in 10 internationals, plus 12 goals in 21 outings for the Norway U21 team.
