Giovanella out for Gunners clash

CELTA VIGO midfielder Everton Giovanella will miss both legs of his side’s Champions league tie against Arsenal after straining a muscle in his leg.

The club said that the Brazilian midfielder would be out of action for around three weeks over the injury, which he sustained in training on Wednesday.

“It’s always a shame to pick up an injury like this,” Giovanella told Celta’s website. “It has come at the time when I was starting to play more games. It’s disappointing to miss a Champions League tie, but these things happen and you can’t dwell on them.”

After struggling early in the season, Celta have experienced a mini-revival under new coach Radomir Antic.

Celta host Arsenal in the first leg of their Champions League tie next Tuesday.
