Solano red card ‘a joke’

The Peruvian midfielder was sent off by Graham Poll after just 10 minutes in the 1-1 draw at Fratton Park on Tuesday night for violently striking out at Richard Hughes.

O’Leary however has issues with the term “violent” and will seek to show an FA disciplinary committee he is right.

In the light of recent events he may have a chance, as three of six previous dismissals this have been after been rescinded after video analysis. West Ham’s Paul Konchesky, Sunderland’s Andy Welsh and Newcastle’s Jermaine Jenas have all been let off bans after being dismissed.
