Bhoys breeze as Larsson nets double
Noel Hunt headed Dunfermline into a surprise early lead but the Hoops responded in formidable fashion. Henrik Larsson scored twice to take his season's tally to 24 and there were goals for Stanislav Varga and Alan Thompson, who played a key part in all four of them.
Celtic stretched their unbeaten league record to 30 games and are 11 points clear but the early signs were not good.
Celtic were temporarily reduced to 10 men when John Kennedy left the field with a gash on his head and the home side took advantage in the 20th minute with Kennedy still missing from Celtic's defence.
Nicholson played a cross to the back post and Hunt arrived to power a header into the far corner. But that brought an instant and frightening response from the Glasgow side, who were ahead just five minutes later.
Larsson rose to head Thompson's corner to the back of the net from close range to take Celtic's goal tally this season through the 100 mark.
Thompson was pivotal again after as he fired a free-kick to the edge of the box where Varga was on hand to glance a header into the top corner.
Celtic strengthened their position just three minutes before the break.
In an almost identical build-up to the first goal, Thompson swung a corner into the near post and Larsson nodded home.
Thompson deservedly got his name on the scoresheet in the 67th minute when his free-kick took a deflection off the wall and flew past the goalkeeper.
A first-half strike from Craig Moore and a first goal from substitute Hamed Namouchi were enough to down stubborn but unimaginative Kilmarnock at Rugby Park.
The win was achieved at a cost however, as Nuno Capucho, who was enjoying arguably his best game in a blue jersey, was carried off injured midway through the second half.
Motherwell and Dundee might be in administration but they provided a great advert for Scottish football when the game is in deep financial crisis.

They now host First Division rivals Burnley whose manager Stan Ternent attended this twice-delayed tie.
The Bucks Head ground was more like Beachy Head, with a layer of sand on the playing surface, but Millwall made light of the conditions and secured their passage thanks to goals from Paul Ifill and player-manager Dennis Wise.
