Wigan's Frank-Paul Nuuausala facing Rugby Football League disciplinary tribunal

Former New Zealand international Frank-Paul Nuuausala is facing a disciplinary hearing just two games into his Super League career.

Wigan's new signing has been charged with a grade A offence of punching and does not have the option of submitting an early-guilty plea so will face a Rugby Football League disciplinary tribunal on Tuesday evening.

Nuuausala was sin-binned after coming to blows with St Helens forward Louie McCarthy-Scarsbrook during Wigan's 23-4 derby defeat at the DW Stadium last Friday.

A grade A offence normally carries a maximum punishment of a one-match ban but the tribunal could decide to take no further action.

Wigan's next match is against Hull in the semi-finals of the Ladbrokes Challenge Cup at Doncaster on Friday night.

Nuuausala, who was making his home debut for the Warriors, was also cautioned by the RFL's match-review panel for pulling McCarthy-Scarsbrook's hair, an offence described as "other contrary behaviour".

McCarthy-Scarsbrook, who was also sin-binned, was given a caution for tapping Nuuausala's face while Wigan second rower Willie Isa also received a caution for a dangerous lift on St Helens stand-off Jordan Turner.
