O'Driscoll not focused on winning championship

Ireland captain Brian O'Driscoll has said he would take a one-point victory over Scotland in Saturday's Six Nations game, choosing to concentrate on Ireland's target of a fifth Triple Crown in seven years rather than winning the championship.

Ireland not only need to beat Scotland by a sizeable margin but they also need England to beat France for O'Driscoll and co to overcome the 50-point margin to beat France to the Six Nations title.

But the Leinster man discounted any talk of overtaking France at the top of the table and chose to focus on a win against the Scots, saying: "We will try and focus on winning the Triple Crown and beating a fairly resurgent Scotland team.

O'Driscoll also said the Scots are still dangerous on their day.

He said: "They showed even back in November what they are capable of in beating Australia, so we are fully aware of what they can produce on the day.

"If you could give me a one-point victory now, I'd take it."
