Whitaker impressed with Leinster's recruitment drive

Leinster's Australian scrum-half Chris Whitaker is impressed with the work of coach Michael Cheika in bringing in high-quality new players for the season ahead.

The delivery of Wallaby Rocky Elsom, Springbok CJ van der Linde and Auckland's Isa Nacewa have left him optimistic about the season.

"I know Rocky (Elsom) well and I spoke to him about the move and I believe that we are getting probably the form number six in the world at the moment," he said.

"CJ Van Der Linde is right up there amongst the best in the world, while Isa (Nacewa) has been a consistent performer in the Super 14.

"These guys are only in their mid to late twenties, so they're only approaching their peak. When you factor in players like John Fogarty and Simon Keogh, coupled with the promotion of some really talented players from the academy, it all augurs well for the squad."
