Cheika: 'consistency of performance now the Leinster goal'

With the Magners League title all but wrapped up Leinster coach Michael Cheika is looking to add a quality that's been missing from the province in recent seasons - consistency.

He hopes his side's impressive 21-12 win over Munster at the RDS is a step in that direction.

On a dismal night at the Ballsbridge venue, Leinster led the game throughout thanks to the precise penalty kicking of centre Felipe Contepomi, which now puts Leinster in the driving seat to win this season's Magners League title.

Johnathan Sexton also gave an assured showing in a try-less game at out-half, sealing the win with a fine drop-goal in the closing minutes.

Sexton himself attributed the win to a Leinster pack determined to prove critics wrong - "it was a typically intense derby game, we saw from Gloucester's performance last week that if you don't match Munster's intensity you don't win the game so that's something we set out to beat them on - our scrum deserves all the plaudits".

However Michael was keen to play down the win, citing consistency as the remaining obstacle between Leinster and progress in the Heineken Cup next season.
