Great start for Garryowen

Garryowen got off to a flying start in the International Amateur Tournament in France by winning their opening game against Languedoc/Roussillon 20-6 in Limoux near Carcassonne.

Garryowen got off to a flying start in the International Amateur Tournament in France by winning their opening game against Languedoc/Roussillon 20-6 in Limoux near Carcassonne.

The tournament is part of a festival of rugby to celebrate the Rugby World Cup in France. Garryowen are representing Ireland as they are the AIB League Champions.

The Irish club made the best of the wind to race into an early lead through a try from Ciaran O'Boyle and the conversion from Alan Kingsley.

Thereafter, they controlled their hosts with Conan Doyle adding the second touchdown and Kingsley supplied the rest of the points.
