Llanelli Scarlets will be in no mood for playing a passive part in Munster's last goodbye to coach Alan Gaffney on his way to become assistant coach to Australia head coach Eddie Jones.

They are considering the citing of Neath-Swansea Ospreys manager Derwyn Jones for bringing the game into disrepute following unfounded allegations published in a Welsh newspaper.

Jones accused Scarlets coach Gareth Jenkins of trying to infuence the referee at half-time, a la Jose Mourinho, of their Celtic Cup semi-final at Stradey Park.

Scarlets Chief Executive, Stuart Gallacher, said: “Such unfounded and cynical allegations are not only unfair on Gareth and the Scarlets but do nothing for the reputation of rugby. “

“We are very disappointed in Derwyn but not surprised. You can’t go around accusing people of things without checking your facts. The Scarlets will make their decision regarding the allegations after their Celtic Cup Final.”
