Munster coach Alan Gaffney was left rueing his side’s lacklustre first half performance as Biarritz emerged 19-10 victors in their Heineken Cup quarter-final clash in San Sebastian.

The Irish province – semi-finalists for the past five seasons – shipped a match-determining 16 points to the French side in the opening half, before finally opening their account through a David Wallace try five minutes after the interval.
