Wales get morale-boosting win over Scots
Wales 23 Scotland 9
Second row prospect Michael Owen scored his first international try as Steve Hansen's Wales clinched a morale-boosting victory over Scotland in the World Cup warm-up match at the Millennium Stadium.
Owen’s touchdown complemented 15 points from the boot of former rugby league ace Iestyn Harris who was in magnificent kicking form and showed some neat touches in attack.
Scotland could only muster three Brendan Laney penalties in reply as skipper Scott Murray – one of the finest locks in the game – gave coach Ian McGeechan cause for concern after leaving the field with a first-half injury.
