Latham to miss tour

Australian full-back Chris Latham has been officially ruled out of the November tour to Argentina, Ireland, England and Italy today, just two days before the squad is due to fly to Buenos Aires.

Latham rolled an ankle while playing with his daughter at home last week. Waratahs winger Scott Staniforth has already joined the Wallaby squad at their Coffs Harbour training camp.

"It's very disappointing to miss this tour, but in reality I would have only an outside chance to play England, which is the third match out of four," said Latham.

"I know I'll be giving someone else a chance, but plenty of other players are in that position and now I've got the opportunity to have a good off-season so that I can start the World Cup year fully fit," he added.
