AIL: Sides gear up for semis

The All-Ireland League Division One is approaching its exciting finale today as the competition enters the semi-final stages.

The Cork-Limerick rivalry is revived in the match between Cork Constitution and Garryowen at Temple Hill. That match kicked off at 2.30pm.

Both sides will be able to field their star players with the likes of Ronan O’Gara, Jim Williams and Anthony Horgan lining up for Cork while Garryowen will be able to call on the likes of John Langford, Dominic Crotty and Jeremy Staunton.

The other semi-final sees table toppers Shannon playing host to Dublin side Clontarf at 3pm.

Shannon will be hoping to make their superior strength in the pack count against today's opponents.

The Limerick side are the top seeds in the knock-out stages after they finished on top of the league just ahead of Cork Con - but they are up against this season’s surprise package, who defeated them in their last league encounter.
