Six Nations: Wales clinch U21 Triple Crown
Wales clinched the triple crown in the Under-21's Six Nations Championship with a convincing 64-20 victory over Scotland at Caerphilly.
Outside-half Nicky Robinson contributed 19 points, including Wales' opening try after just three minutes to set the tone.
Brave Scottish defence withstood pressure in the opening stages and pulled back three points through the boot of outside-half Ander Monro.
But Wales' dominant pack gradually took a stranglehold on the game and earned a penalty try on 33 minutes after Scotland's under-pressure forwards wheeled the scrum as they were being driven over their own goal line.
Gareth Swales and Hal Luscombe both went over before half-time to give Wales a 26-6 lead at the whistle and were both at the heart of the Welsh attack which ran in a further six tries after the break.
Swales grabbed his second after flanker Gareth Williams had gone over, while James Strong scorched over with a stunning 60-yard burst on the hour after Scott Lawson had crossed for Scotland's first.
Wing Liam Roberts powered over twice, along with replacement Matt Miles, as Wales ran riot in the closing 10 minutes.
Scotland lock Mark Rennie grabbed a late consolation try for Scotland with the last move of the game.
The only sour point of the afternoon for Wales was the sight of Richard Jones being stretchered off at the final whistle with suspected knee ligament damage.
Robinson's trusty boot kicked seven of nine conversion attempts for the Welsh while Monro contributed two penalties and two conversions to the Scottish effort.
