Rugby: Guinness Inter-Provincials postponed

The IRFU has postponed this month’s series of Guinness Interprovincial Championship games because of the heavy workload the players have endured in recent weeks.

The IRFU has postponed this month’s series of Guinness Interprovincial Championship games because of the heavy workload the players have endured in recent weeks.

The Leinster-Connacht and Munster-Ulster games were due to go ahead at the end of December, but the IRFU’s director of fitness called for the players to be given a period of rest.

The Irish teams have played several Celtic League and European Cup games in recent weeks, while many of them also played international games for Ireland during the autumn.
