Six Nations: Ireland host England in Six Nations decider
Ireland host England at Lansdowne Road this afternoon in the final game of the extended Six Nations Championship.
The Irish need to defeat Clive Woodward’s side by 61 points to wrestle the top-spot away from England, having already secured second place.
A win against their old rivals would prevent the English from achieving a ‘grand slam’, which should be a massive incentive for the Irish players.
Warren Gatland’s side has bounced back from a disappointing loss against the Scottish to destroy the Welsh in Cardiff last weekend and they will be looking to continue where they left off today.
There are no changes in the Irish side that started against Wales after David Wallace proved his fitness during the week.
The team is: Clohessy, Wood (Capt.), Hayes, Galwey, O’Kelly, Miller, Wallace, Foley, Stringer, Humphreys, Maggs, O’Driscoll, Hickie, Horgan and Dempsey.
The English side has also been named and, despite losing captain Martin Johnson, Lawrence Dallaglio and Phil Vickery, the side appears terrifically strong.
The English team in full is: Leonard, Greening, White, Shaw, Grewcock, Corry, Back, Hill, Dawson (Capt.), Wilkinson, Robinson, Catt, Greenwood, Luger and Balshaw.
