Lions Tour: Hill ruled out for rest of tour

The Lions have suffered yet another blow after it was revealed that English flanker Richard Hill will not take any further part in the tour.

He suffered concussion during the second test game against Australia yesterday.

Hill was one of the players of the tour for the Lions and his presence will be sorely missed in next Saturday's test decider at Stadium Australia in Sydney.

Hill's place on the team will probably go to his England team-mate, Martin

Corry, who has joined the squad as a replacement and has also gone on to

become one of the stars of the tour.

The Lions have also got other injury headaches before the third test in Sydney after a thoroughly bruising encounter yesterday.

The first choice half-back pairing of Rob Howley and Jonny Wilkinson both had to be replaced before the end with suspected rib injuries and leg injuries respectively.

Hill, Howley, Wilkinson and Brian O'Driscoll all underwent x-rays after the tough match but Hill is the only one to have been definitely ruled out so far.

Wilkinson is the biggest concern and his leg is now in a plaster cast, although it is understood not to be broken.

If Wilkinson or O'Driscoll were to miss the third test, it would mean almost certain doom for the Northern Hemisphere side, who would stand little chance against the World Champions without their two star players.
