Last season’s runners-up leapfrogged London Irish at the top of the table thanks to tries from Cornell Du Preez and John Hardie along with the boot of Greig Tonks.

The deadlock was not broken until the 22nd minute when Tonks converted a penalty after Agen were penalised at a scrum. Tonks made it two penalties in two minutes after the hosts were caught infringing at a ruck.
