Shiels gets Ireland chance after Fitzhenry injury

Ireland coach Tom Tierney has made one enforced change from the side which defeated England for Sunday’s RBS Women’s 6 Nations game with Wales (Swansea, 12pm).

Shiels gets Ireland chance after Fitzhenry injury

Katie Fitzhenry is ruled out with an ankle injury sustained in training and has been replaced by Jackie Shiels in the centre. Tierney said: “It was great to get a win against England a fortnight ago, and has left us in a good position for the final two rounds of the championship, but we are always looking for improvements. We are not underestimating Wales, they are a strong side and we have no doubt they will bring their all with them for the home crowd. If we do the small things right we will be in good shape.” This game will be streamed live on www.IrishRugby.ie and broadcast on RTÉ 2FM.
