Leinster utility back Isa Nacewa is hoping he won’t be forced out of the province by bureaucracy — but says he will accept it if he must leave.

Fijian flyer Nacewa hoping for Leinster reprieve

The Fijian flyer has been one of Irish rugby’s most successful imports, and has admitted he would “for sure” have declared for Ireland had he not won a single cap as a substitute at the 2003 Rugby World Cup that tied him to Fiji. Nacewa has a contract with Leinster that expires at the end of the 2012/’13 season, but he could be forced to move to pastures new under the IRFU’s player succession strategy which does not allow the provinces to offer new deals to existing non-Irish qualified players.

“It’s definitely something I don’t want to do,” he told Setanta Sports iTalkSport. “I’ve got a young family here that were born in Dublin and have grown up in Ireland. We hope the rules get down a bit but at the end of the day if I’m forced to leave it’s just something I’ll have to deal with.
