Kilfeacle cruise past Clan
The winners led 25-0 at half time with two tries each from Pat Ryan and Brian O’Brien, with Shane Loony kicking a conversion and a penalty.
Pierce Breen added another try after the break before Ian O’Rahelly scored a consolation try for the home side, which Brian Kissane converted.
Cobh Pirates continued their good form with a 22-12 home win over Tralee, thanks in the main to tries from Peter Aherne, Jack Barrett and John Kidney. Mark Chandler kicked two conversions and a penalty, while Garrett Walsh replied with four penalties.
Richmond booked their place in the last four with a 48-7 home win over Thurles. Two first-half tries from Garrett O’Hanlon and one apiece from Tomas Aherne, Jeff McNamara and Thomas O’Brien gave Richmond the edge. Jonathon Forde converted three and also added a penalty.
Gearoid Phelan and Ross O’Neill scored second-half tries with Forde and Darragh Clancy adding a conversion each.
A conversion of an Alan Roche try by Tom Kelleher in the last minute gave Newcastle West a 17-16 victory over St Mary’s in the Munster Junior Clubs Shield.
Presentation defeated Bandon 20-10 with tries from Mark Phair, who also landed two penalties and two conversions, and Ger Hall. Tim Crowley and Ger Paul Lucey replied with tries for Bandon.
Scariff lost at home to Mallow 14-10. Sean Glynn scored all of Mallow’s points with a try and three penalties. Tom Cronin and Darra McNamara replied with tries for the Clare side.
Kinsale defeated Muskerry 23-5 thanks to tries from Renaud Sergre, Andy Lynch and Ian Costello as well as two conversions and a penalty from Paul Perez. Rob Mahony replied with a try for the visitors.
Charleville defeated Corca Dhuibhne 13-5 in the Martin O’Sullivan Cup. Ger Sheehan scored two tries for the north Cork side and Frank Holly kicked a drop goal.
Tries from Dermot Fahy and Ciaran O’Sullivan and a conversion and penalty by Con Foley earned Dungarvan a 15-10 victory over Killorglin.
Waterford City defeated Bantry Bay 44-14. Colin Lynch and Sean O’Mahony scored two tries each for the winners and John Doran and David Whelan got one each.
It was a mixed day for Cork Constitution after their Junior side defeated Sunday’s Well 34-8 in the Munster Seconds League. Simon Hanbidge scored two of the winners’ five tries, with Conor Desmond, Brian Vaughan and Eoin O’Donnell getting the others.
However, Carrigaline caused a big shock in the Dennehy Cup with a 23-12 win at Cork Con.
