Ulster omit flanker Ferris

IRELAND flanker Stephen Ferris has not been named in a 31-man Ulster squad for their Magners League trip to the Scarlets tomorrow night.

After undergoing a further scan on his injured left knee, the Ireland management thought it more prudent that Ferris not play and instead receive further treatment. It’s unlikely that he will feature for Ireland in their Six Nations clash against Scotland on Sunday week at Murrayfield.

However, he could be available for the match against Wales the following week, and against England on March 19.
