Tadhg Furlong has been cited for an incident that occurred during Leinster’s URC defeat of Munster at the Aviva Stadium on Saturday night, with arrangements for the disciplinary procedure to be announced in due course.

The Leinster, Ireland and Lions tighthead has been cited under Law 9.27 which states: “A player must not do anything that is against the spirit of good sportsmanship including but not limited to grabbing, twisting or squeezing the genitals.”

The alleged incident occurred in the 37th minute of the game. The URC statement issued on Monday stated that the “Citing Commissioner in charge has made a complaint about an act of foul play by the Player (Tadhg Furlong No 3) against opponent Gavin Coombes (No 8)”.

Peter Ferguson of Scotland is the citing commissioner. His decision comes after TMO Colin Stanley was unable to find sufficient evidence of any potential wrongdoing after the matter was brought to the attention of referee Andrew Brace.
