O’Driscoll ready for Toulouse
The Irish skipper sustained an ankle injury in the province’s shock Magners League defeat to Connacht on Wednesday night. Though in discomfort, he finished the game and officials last night said that scans yesterday has shown the problem is not serious.
Leinster spokesman Peter Breen explained: “It was just a little knock to the ankle. It looked must worse that it is.
“Wild horses wouldn’t stop him from playing against Toulouse next week.”
Michael Cheika, however, must continue to wait and see if out-half Jonathan Sexton will be available for the trip to France.
The Irish international required surgery to correct a broken bone in his jaw sustained in the narrow win over Clermont Auvergne in the quarter-final earlier this month.
Breen continued: “Jonny is still rehabbing so there is no update on that, it is a case of wait and see.” There is also some concerns over Girvan Dempsey who hurt his neck on Wednesday night. We will have a better idea on all of those injuries next week.”
Breen reported a strong interest in tickets for the game in France and expects more fans to travel now that the air restrictions caused by theeruption of a volcano in Iceland have eased.
