Thomond trip for Listowel
Munster’s success has led to a rebirth of the oval code in the North Kerry town and history will be made Saturday when the U10 side become the first team from the club to play at Thomond Park.
The clash with Dungarvan at half time in the Magners League tie between Munster and Ulster is attracting huge interest in the Kingdom according to Club PRO Caroline Hughes.
She said: “We have two 50-seater buses booked for the trip. The interest in the game is massive. But rugby has really grown here over the last couple of years, thanks to Munster’s performances.
“We have U8, U10, U12 and U14 teams and a senior side. We have over 100 players registered with the club in the youths alone.
“A big thanks is due to all at the Munster rugby branch especially Paul Collins, Finny O’Regan and Ray Gadsden for their help and giving us this opportunity. It means the world not only to kids but to everyone in the club.”
