Ulster keep hopes alive with far from fiery win over Dragons

ULSTER managed to hang on to a 14-7 interval lead and keep their Magners League hopes very much alive with a curate’s egg performance against the Newport Gwent Dragons at Ravenhill last night.

Ulster should have had the game wrapped up by half-time as they played some of the best rugby of the season in relegating their visitors as mere spectators. But their second-half performance was as bad as the first was good with nether team troubling the scoreboard after the break.

Man-of-the-match Neil Best, who along with hooker Paul Shields was winning his 100th Ulster cap, was prominent throughout in the early stages. featured with some big hits and dynamic driving at the rucks.
