FEARS that Brian O’Driscoll will be lured abroad by a megabucks deal are premature, IRFU chief executive, Philip Browne insisted last night.

O’Driscoll, whose IRFU contract ends in June, admitted yesterday that he would be interested in sampling rugby in places other than Ireland. But the Union chief said: “We have been involved in negotiations with a number of players, including Brian, whose contracts are running out.

“Talks are continuing with all of them and we’re not in the business of divulging any information as to how far advanced we are in dealing with any of the people involved. There is no question of any of these talks having broken down.
