AUSTRALIA coach Eddie Jones dismissed England’s losing history Down Under as irrelevant and yesterday steeled his players for a clash with a team he believes has everything.

England left behind a New Zealand side battered and bruised from their Test defeat in Wellington and a Kiwi public chastened that their heroes had been beaten by a bunch of “gargoyles” who did not know how to play expansive 15-man rugby.

Woodward was expecting to be greeted by similar stereotypes upon his arrival in Australia, and though Jones admitted there could be some verbal jousting later in the week, England were treated with something approaching reverence by the Wallabies yesterday .
