French ‘second string’ face full strength All Blacks

IT’S the match no-one wants, New Zealand versus France for third place in the World Cup in Sydney today.

Just a week ago, both sides were the toast of the town - branded as the most exciting teams in the competition, they were favoured by many to reach the final.

Instead it was Australia and England that went through and both sets of defeated semi-finalists were left to ponder what might have been.
