Paddy Twomey and Billy Lee look the men to follow on Wednesday’s seven-race Flat card at Naas with the pair fancied to start as they mean to go on by combining to win the opening contest, the Matchbook Exchange Irish EBF Maiden, courtesy of New Bond Street.

That the Havana Grey filly is held in high regard was evident from her being sent off the 1-2 favourite to make a winning start at Cork last month but a sluggish start put her on the backfoot from the get-go.

However, despite showing signs of greenness throughout, she did her best work late on to finish fifth, beaten six and a half lengths.

She should have learned plenty from that experience and it’ll be no great surprise if she takes a sizeable leap forward second time out.

Man's Best Friend has a near-identical profile to the selection, coming here having shaped well in defeat on debut, but the recent underwhelming Ballydoyle stable form has to be a slight concern, for all that history suggests it will only be a temporary anomaly. For that reason New Bond Street is preferred.

Stablemate Concorde Landed gets the confident vote in the Arqana Irish EBF Marwell Stakes.

The Sioux Nation filly turned on the style on debut when bolting up in a maiden over course and distance earlier this month. This task demands more but she looks well capable of rising to the challenge.

Given her name, Phenomenal Filly should be well above average and she can round off proceedings nicely for Twomey and Lee by winning the finale, the Naas Racecourse Race.

Another daughter of Sioux Nation, Phenomenal Filly produced a career-best effort when a close second to Duckadilly in a Leopardstown Group 3 earlier this month and a reproduction of that run should see her come home in front this time.

The five-year-old Walk In The Park mare ticks the course box having won a three-mile contest over hurdles in May before being reeled in late on by Rue Taylor on her chasing debut last month, the first and second finishing 24 lengths clear of their nearest rival.

She may be able to get back to winning ways here.
