Newcastle call off jumps meeting

Tomorrow’s jumps meeting at Newcastle has been abandoned due to snow.

The track is reported to be covered by two inches of snow with further snow possible today and a harsh frost expected tonight.

Clerk of the course James Armstrong tweeted: ``RacingNewcastleraces has been ABANDONED due to SNOW. 2'' covering the track, still snowing, more to come. Temps this eve to drop to -5/-6c.``
