Hannon recovering from heart surgery
Champion trainer Richard Hannon is recovering in hospital after undergoing vascular surgery on Monday.
The 66-year-old, who had a heart-by-pass operation 16 months ago, could be well enough to return home to his Marlborough base sometime next week.
His son and assistant, Richard jnr, stressed that “everything went well”.
“It was not that dad felt unwell, but the specialist took the view that his aorta needed an MOT,” he told richardhannonracing.com.
“They have told us that the repair work has gone fine and he is recovering well from the operation.
“We have just been to see him and he immediately wanted an update on who did what on the gallops, so he is clearly going the right way.”
