Green light for Carlisle meet

Carlisle's meeting this afternoon will go ahead as planned after the track passed a second inspection at 10am.

Already an all-hurdle card after the chase track was waterlogged earlier in the week, freezing temperatures had placed the meeting in doubt.

An initial look at 8am proved inconclusive but by 10am clerk of the course Andrew Tulloch was happy to give the meeting the green light.

"We're going ahead," he said.

"There's still a bit of frost in the ground but the temperatures have risen and the sun is out."
