Officials at Newcastle have called a second inspection for 10am ahead of this afternoon's meeting.

Clerk of the course James Armstrong had initial look at 8am but has decided to check again after temperatures fell to -3C overnight.

The going is currently described as heavy with some frosty patches on top of the ground.
