Voice in hunt for Ascot glory
Last year's winner Forgotten Voice heads 56 horses confirmed for the Royal Hunt Cup at Royal Ascot on Wednesday.
Jeremy Noseda's charge was a convincing scorer under 9st 1lb 12 months ago, but has 12lb more this time.
He would have to shoulder top weight of 9st 13lb should he attempt to become the first back-to-back winner since Master Vote, who was successful in 1947 and 1948.
But at least he is guaranteed a run as the field is restricted to the top 30 in the handicap.
Trainer William Knight reports December Draw to be on course the cavalry charge over the straight mile.
"We confirmed his entry today so we're on course to run him there next week," said the West Sussex handler.
"He's a fun horse but whether he's up to winning a Hunt Cup, I don't know. It's an ultra-competitive race, but we'll have a go and have a good day out.
"I think a fast mile will suit him. He stays the trip obviously, but I hope they don't get too much rain there."
