Thornton eyes quick return

Robert "Choc" Thornton hopes to resume riding in a couple of days following a heavy tumble at Uttoxeter on Sunday.

He was unshipped when Franchoek hit the first fence very hard in the Always Waining Beginners Chase at the Staffordshire venue.

"I'm fine, just a bit sore, that's all," said Thornton.

"I wasn't riding today, I won't ride tomorrow but I'll probably be back on Wednesday. It's just soft tissue damage.

"It was a heavy old fall and I got a bit of a kicking, but I'll be spot-on in a couple of days."
