Boost for Ryanair Chase

This year’s Ryanair Chase will be worth a total of £250,000 (€277,814) after receiving a prize money boost.

An extra £30,000 (€33,337) has been added to the pot for Thursday March 18 which is contested over two miles and five furlongs and was won by Imperial Commander last term.

Ryanair’s chief executive Michael O’Leary said: “The Ryanair Chase has become one of the highlights of the week under our banner and I’m pleased to be moving the race forward in terms of value again in 2010.

“I’ll also be hoping that the prize comes back to Ireland for the first time this year!”

Ryanair will also continue to fund a free meal for all stable staff looking after a horse declared to run on every day of The Festival.
