Cole team on guard for Chester
Traffic Guard could bid to follow up his Windsor triumph at Chester next month.
Connections have one eye on the Betdaq The Betting Exchange Stand Cup at the Roodee on September 12 after his Saturday evening stroll.
He relished the step up to the extended mile and three furlongs by coming home eight lengths clear of Warringah in the Listed August Stakes at the Berkshire track.
And despite the ease of the victory, Fitri Hay’s five-year-old entire covered the distance almost three seconds faster than the course standard time.
“That was good and he could be a different horse over a mile and a half,” said trainer Paul Cole’s son and assistant, Oliver.
“It was a quick time – fast by three seconds as well. It was nice for him to win.
“There’s a Listed at Chester over a mile and half which he might go for next. He’s come out of his race very well and he’s quite an exciting prospect.”
