Radiohead showed the best turn of foot to run out an impressive winner of the Norfolk Stakes at Royal Ascot under Jamie Spencer.

Brian Meehan’s chestnut was sent off at 10-1 having won a Bath novice event on his latest outing, and travelled strongly throughout.

There was a brief moment of worry for his supporters as American raider Yogaroo hung across the track hampering both the winner and favourite Monsieur Chevalier, but Radiohead was soon back on an even keel and powered away inside the final furlong to score by two lengths.

Reignier filled the runner-up spot, while Tawaabb picked up minor honours in third.

Victor Chandler responded with a 25-1 quote about Radiohead for the 2000 Guineas.
