Four winners Dettori at Dubai Carnival
Frankie Dettori was in top form at the Dubai Carnival yet again as he booted home four winners at Nad Al Sheba.
The undoubted highlight was the victory of Desert Party in the UAE 2000 Guineas, with the Street Cry colt looking a potentially top-class performer.
A Grade Two winner in America at two, he was successful on his UAE debut last month and was given a typically cool Dettori ride in this Group Three event.
Racing in mid-division he picked up very smoothly just off the pace in the straight and readily came home in front of stablemate Regal Ransom and Redding Colliery.
Trainer Saeed bin Suroor said: "We were expecting a big run and he is a nice horse. The UAE Derby is the obvious target but we will have to see how he is and we have a few other options to consider."
Yamal was Dettori's first on the night as the former Mark Johnston-trained four-year-old spreadeagled his rivals in the 4Men Trophy on dirt.
He showed the benefit of his debut two weeks ago and could be set for a rise in class.
City Style was also an impressive winner for Dettori's Godolphin bosses in the GNB Plate on turf.
Last seen finishing fourth behind John Gosden's Donativum in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf, he found this assignment much easier and give Bin Suroor his 12th winner of the Carnival.
"He's been racing over a mile so he's done well to win over six and a half," said Dettori.
"I think there is a race in two weeks' time on the grass again that we'll try and we'll see how he goes, he won well tonight so he deserves a step up in class.
"We'll see on his next start if he is good enough for World Cup night."
The four-timer was brought up by another ex-Johnston horse as Kirkless stormed clear to land the concluding Xpress 2000 (Handicap) on turf, complete with a flying dismount from a most satisfied Dettori.
Bin Suroor added: "The horses are running well and nearly everything has gone to plan tonight."
Johnny Murtagh was another man firing on all cylinders and he enjoyed a double himself, both for Mike De Kock.
Warsaw, formerly with Aidan O'Brien, bolted up in the GNAds4U (Handicap) while Art Of War strolled home in the Wheels 2000 (Handicap).
De Kock said: "Johnny has stolen the race on Art of War by kicking clear and we thought Warsaw would go close after a good run last week."
