Burke has fingers crossed for Thyne

Liam Burke is keeping his fingers crossed Fairyhouse’s rearranged card on Tuesday will be given the green light to allow Thyne Again to take his chance in the Grade Two Normans Grove Chase.

The eight-year-old was a 20-length winner of a Grade Three event at Naas on his seasonal reappearance and he was beaten just five lengths into third by Big Zeb at Leopardstown over Christmas after an interrupted preperation.

Burke was frustrated Sunday afternoon’s Fairyhouse card had to be cancelled due to snow and is desperate for an improvement in the weather with very few options coming up for his stable star.

“The plan would definitely be to run on Tuesday all being well as we need to run him somewhere,” said Burke.

“If that meeting is off I really don’t know where we would go with him. He could run in the Hennessy at the start of next month but I had wanted to run him before then so we will just have to see.

“The horse is in great nick so I really hope we can get him out on Tuesday.”
