Hexham to be inspected

Tomorrow’s meeting at Hexham is subject to a precautionary inspection at 2pm this afternoon.

The north-east venue has been subjected to sub-zero temperatures recently but the forecast is for a much milder night and clerk of the course Jonnie Fenwicke-Clennell will have a much better idea of the state of the course this afternoon.

“It is only a precautionary inspection as the track is frozen this morning,” he said.

“But the forecast for tonight is not for it to freeze, it will be one degree at its lowest.

“We will probably look again in the morning but I’ll have a much better idea this afternoon.”
