Collection horse set for Hong Kong

Hampton Court Stakes winner Collection has been sold privately out of William Haggas' yard to continue his racing career in Hong Kong.

The three-year-old, who finished a close fifth behind Pressing in Turkey on his last start, will be based with trainer John Moore.

Formerly owned by Highclere Thoroughbred Racing, he is to have the Hong Kong Derby next March as a target.

"Collection has provided his owners with a tremendous thrill during his career to date, with his win at this year's Royal Ascot meeting being an obvious highlight," said Highclere's Harry Herbert.

"Everyone that has been involved with him will be sorry to see him leave the Highclere string. However, we will look forward to following his promising future in Hong Kong."

He was bought by Alastair Donald of international bloodstock agency Kern Lillingston who brokered the sale on behalf of Moore and his owner Mr Wong.

"Collection is beautiful looking animal who ticks all the boxes in respect of him being able to act on the racing conditions in Hong Kong. If he can reproduce his Royal Ascot form, we feel he has a serious live chance in the Hong Kong Derby in March next year," said Donald.
